Welcome — I’m Heather

If you’re here, you may be feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or ready for something to shift. Reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, and you don’t have to navigate this process alone

I offer a calm, supportive space where you can slow down, feel understood, and begin reconnecting with yourself in ways that feel safe, grounded, and sustainable.

I believe healing happens when people feel safe, seen, and respected as their whole selves. My work as a therapist is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and deep respect for each client’s lived experience. I meet clients where they are and move at a pace that honors both their goals and their nervous system.

I bring over 20 years of experience in teaching, advocacy, and wellness-based work, including more than 12 years as a certified yoga instructor. This background informs my integrative, mind–body approach to therapy, with attention to body awareness, mindfulness, and nervous system regulation alongside evidence-based psychotherapy.

I work with adolescents and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, identity exploration, self-worth challenges, relationship stress, and major life transitions. Many of the people I support are insightful and self-aware, yet still feel stuck, dysregulated, or disconnected from their bodies or emotions. Therapy can be a space to gently understand these patterns and support meaningful, sustainable change.

Why I Became a Therapist

I have always been drawn to helping roles and to understanding how people heal and make sense of their patterns. Long before becoming a therapist, I experienced the impact of working with a spiritual director and a therapist who helped me understand my own inner world. Seeing how transformational that process could be shaped my desire to do this work.

My experience working with women who had been rescued from sex trafficking deepened my understanding of the importance of trauma-informed care. It made clear that healing requires more than insight , it requires safety, attunement, and an understanding of how trauma affects both the nervous system and the body. My years teaching yoga further reinforced this, highlighting the essential role of somatic awareness and regulation in the healing process.

At the core of my work is a belief that healing is possible. I have felt it in my own life and witnessed it in others. I don’t turn away from suffering, and I aim to offer clients a space where they feel genuinely cared for, encouraged, and supported with practical tools that help in daily life, while also creating room for deeper, lasting healing.

How I Work

My approach is trauma-informed, integrative, and relational, with a strong emphasis on mind–body connection and nervous system regulation. I tailor therapy to each client’s needs, drawing from both evidence-based and experiential approaches to support insight, emotional regulation, and embodied healing.

My work may include:

I also support clients processing altered states of consciousness, including those related to meditation, breathwork, or psychedelic experiences in legal, ceremonial, or research contexts. This work focuses on grounding, meaning-making, and integrating insights into daily life to support long-term healing.

Additionally, I work with women navigating the emotional, cognitive, and identity shifts that can accompany the perimenopause transition, offering space to explore mood changes, body image concerns, grief, relationship changes, and questions of meaning or reinvention that often arise during this life phase.

Outside the Office

Outside of the therapy room, I value practices that support grounding, presence, and balance in everyday life. I’m drawn to mind–body practices that help regulate the nervous system and create space for reflection, including movement, time outdoors, and quiet moments of pause.

I love reading across fiction and nonfiction, especially work that explores psychology, meaning, and the complexity of the human experience. Spending time walking or hiking—often with my partner and our dog—is one of the ways I reset, reconnect, and stay grounded. These practices help me show up with steadiness, curiosity, and care in both my personal life and my work as a therapist.
